Teaching
Here at Featherwood, we love the harp, and want to pass this passion on to you. We believe that anyone can learn an instrument, and constantly look for new ways to make that journey enjoyable and accessible.
For adults wanting to learn an instrument and gain a new social experience we recommends group classes: fun, friendly and supportive, with the added bonus of playing in a harp orchestra early on!
One to one lessons are ideal for adults wanting to learn at their own pace. Individual lessons also give you the opportunity to explore and focus on what you really want to learn, be it a solid grounding in harp technique or perhaps a particular repertoire. Individual pupils can also have the opportunity to play with the group ensembles at informal concerts and play days.
Steph (our main Featherwood teacher) also enjoys teaching teenagers and children (from age 8), incorporating work on technique with games and fun to get their ears and fingers working with the music! ABRSM exams are available, including the important supporting subjects of theory, aural and sight reading. Steph also teaches these subjects separately.
Steph teaches in Oxford and Chorleywood (jnc 18 on the M25, also on the Metropolitan Line). Contact her for more information.
